Our Philosophy

Real Soap, Real Ingredients

Soapmaking rooted in land, legacy, and good sense.

The Plain Jane Way

Our founder, Abbey Road, has been making soap her whole life, and we mean real soap. Rendered tallow, milk, and lard. The kind you learn at the kitchen table, not from a kit.

Our base recipe has earned County Fair blue ribbons since 1966, when Abbey’s grandmother first won for lard rendering in Southern Ohio. That Appalachian know-how came straight down the line, and we have never seen a reason to change it.

Soap made this way is different. It's built on sustainable animal fats that mirror the structure of our own skin. Folks with dryness and irritation tell us they finally feel relief, and many find they don't need moisturizer at all. If you have never used soap like this, we invite you to give it a try.

“I was raised around real ingredients and real work. Tallow, lard, and buttermilk were not trends where I grew up. That was just how soap got made, and it is still how I make it today. I would love for you to give my grandma’s recipe a try.”
